A Dove’s Cry

Sometimes I dream as I lay in bed of a perfect lady covered in

roses of red she is at peace with the notion in mind that she has
found the love she had hoped to find
As she laughs in harmony in the surrounding roses of red she opens

her eyes and breathes and no words are said. Gazing into her ocean
of blue, one wonders, "is she seeing what she’s used too?"
But in the midsts of her life above, she hears the calls of one white dove.

Oblivious to what she has done; her lungs breathed life into the heart of one.
Hopelessly she calls out, "is anyone here?"But the silence only adds to her fear.

For all that could be heard was the beating hearts of a lady and one bird.
She calls out again, "is anyone here?" Immediately I respond, "I am near."

But for some reason I, she could not hear. I see falling from one of her eyes a tear.
I reach out my hand to wipe the tear from her eye and suddenly

she is overwhelmed and starts to cry. Each drop that falls melts
each rose of red and begins to turn each into puddles of red.
I whisper into her ear telling her not to cry and then her tears began to die.

She inhaled deep and her lungs filled with air when she exhaled i felt life in all of my hair
she closed her eyes and before me she lay; a vision more lovely than the

day I wrapped my arms around her so she wouldn’t get away;
in my arms shed have to stay.
Frantically, the dove took it’s flight where all could see its heavenly sight,

the lady opened her eyes only to find my arms wrapped around her tight
Startled she spoke, "from where did you come?" I responded,

"From the heart of one." I could hear her heart beat loud, for I knew
my mind she would forever cloud.
As the dove continued it’s eternal call, i now knew one for whom my heart

would always fall, with eyes so deep and blue, and a heart to which mine would always be true
I adorned her body in its every spender, for all of her pain I intended to hinder.

Nothing else existed except the roses under the sky, and the sounds of a dove’s unanswered cry.
